<p>The PH matters because if parasites are allowed to run rampant throughout your body, your immune system will become depressed and prevent its natural healing.</p>

<p>Your body has a natural PH at the intracellular level of around 7.4.  At this level and between 7.2 and 7.4, parasites cannot live; therefore, you can see why a slightly alkaline environment is so beneficial.</p>

<p>At first meditation was used by religious priests, for a while now even ordinary people have been employing meditation as a way to discover the several benefits that meditation offers.</p>
<p>Meditation isn&#8217;t hard in fact what it is really is the simple practice of concentrating and the intense focus on sounds, objects, ideas, breathing, action or even movement that will allow you to intensify perception, cut down on stress, enhance your relaxation, and gain a personal and spiritual growth.</p>
<p>When meditation was first out it originally was only practiced along with some sort of religious traditions to build your spiritual belief higher, but now it is used by several people to help relieve different stresses and pains.</p>
<p>Western medical practitioners are realizing that meditation has help people to cope with different health issues, so they are beginning to promote it to their patients more and more. In fact they have begun to use it along with medicines to help and relieve aches and pains for several people.</p>
<p>It is interesting to note that medical clinics and hospitals across the nation have been offering the practice of meditation as a possible method for patients to improve their health. Meditation is currently employed as a method for treatment of some diseases, as an additional therapeutic process for a comprehensive treatment program and as a means of improving the quality of life of people with chronic, debilitating, or incurable illnesses.</p>
<p>Current health care application of meditation focuses on three particular approaches: transcendental meditation, relaxation response meditation and mindfulness meditation (also referred to as mindfulness-based stress reduction).</p>
<p>The practice of meditation brings to bear on the seven major chakras (which correspond to the body&#8217;s major endocrine glands) the power of the environment and the universe.</p>
<p>If you would practice meditation for at least 30 minutes a day it will contribute to your balanced and harmonious interdependent functions of the major chakras with one another.</p>
<p>You will notice the energy flowing from the root, sacral, solar plexus, heart, throat, third eye, and finally the crown chakras while meditating. Your whole body&#8217;s biological, emotional, and spiritual aspects become more nourished and balance the body cleansing physical, emotional and spiritual toxins.</p>
<p>Since chakra meditation requires deep concentration the uninterrupted flow of energy into the body also gives a boost to the major chakras (and their corresponding endocrine counterparts).</p>
<p>A neat way to look at it is a turbocharger for your body, or even a catalytic converter that will gather outside energy and harness it and channel it out to the different parts of the body and the chakras.</p>
<p>And since your chakras are such a huge part of your body&#8217;s physical and metaphysical makeup, with fine tuning of these items our daily lives are affected either directly or indirectly, emotionally, physically, intellectually, and even spiritually.</p>
<p>There a different ways that people practice chakra meditation, but no matter what way they use the may step is to be able to concentrate and allow the focus to spread throughout your body.</p>
<p>You will not notice an immediate change from practicing chakra meditation, but more of a gradually change that will slowly take over your thoughts to give you a more positive outlook on life. Meditation is believed to help a person live a better life and be happier both physically and emotionally.</p>
<p>The most notable effect of chakra meditation is that a person&#8217;s ability to concentrate and awareness are greatly enhanced even only after a week. Imagine if you are performing chakra meditation for years!</p>
<p>Commonly reported benefits of chakra meditation are heightened creativity, enhanced resourcefulness due to better perception of events, objects and the general surrounding of an individual in general. It is also proven that regular meditation helps people improve their sleep patterns and benefit from deep sleep. The advantages of deep sleep can not be understated since it helps to improve a person&#8217;s overall health, restores the body&#8217;s energy stock and makes you feel stronger.</p>
<p>Daily chakra meditation will also decrease stress in your life, from work, family, and inter-personal relationships. <p>Generally, overall health and well-being is greatly improved when meditation becomes a part of your daily routine. It helps to lower blood pressure which in turn can help prevent strokes and heart disease. It can also help reduce the effect of stress on people who suffer from chronic illnesses.</p>
<p>Even if you only practice meditation for half an hour daily you will be surprised on how much it will help to reduce your stress, improve your health, and just in general make your days better, and more productive.</p>

Now you feel self-conscience about that ugly discoloration and frustrated that there&#8217;s very little immediate relief, except maybe an ice pack.</p>
<p>As you get older, you don&#8217;t have that extra layer of padding that helped the younger you avoid such calamities.  You may not even remember hitting that chair or corner, but now you have bleeding under the skin, better know as a bruise.</p>
<p>For the most part, bruises are caused by different kinds of trauma, but one or all of several things may be the culprit.</p>
<p>1)   If easy bruising &#8220;runs in your family&#8221;, chances are you&#8217;ll be more susceptible.</p>
<p>2)   A particular vitamin deficiency such as B12, K, C or folic acid can also be the answer.  Eating more vegetables high in bioflavonoids will help, as well as fruits such as strawberries.</p>
<p>3)   Certain medications can increase the risk of bruising, particularly medications that alter the activity of platelets or any components that play a role in blood clotting.  These include anti-inflammatory meds or blood thinners such as warfarin, prednisone and even aspirin.</p>
<p>4)  Some supplements such as garlic, ginger, gingko and fish oils can cause aging, tissue-like skin to be more susceptible to damage.</p>
<p>In the more extreme consideration, bruising can be a first sign of lupus, leukemia, even cirrhosis of the liver, so ask your doctor or naturopath for an opinion if you even think there might be such an issue.  After all, living younger longer requires a little work so pay attention to your body.</p>

<p>We all know the importance of using a sunscreen daily &#8211; even on a cloudy day and during the winter &#8211; to protect our skin against aging and cancer too. But, there is new research is suggesting that maybe our sunscreens may not be so good for our skin and may cause cancer!</p>
<p>How do sunscreens work? Well a sunscreen contains certain chemicals that are supposed to block the UVA and UVB rays of the sun. UVA rays are the rays that cause wrinkles and premature aging. And UVB rays are the ones responsible for sun burns.</p>
<p>Sunscreens &#8211; not sun block &#8211; function through creating a chemical barrier between the UVA and UVB ray and our skin. Sunscreens are labeled with an SPF rating which means sun protection levels. Of course, the higher the SPF the higher the level of protection.</p>
<p>This does not mean a higher level of SPF (like 30) is two times as strong as an SPF of 15. A sunscreen with an SPF of 30 just means you can stay out in the sun a little longer than an SPF of 15. An SPF of 15 will block about 93% of the suns UV rays, while an SPF 30 will only block 97% &#8212; not much different is it? Which is why it&#8217;s still important to avoid the sun during the hottest part of the day and keep covered whenever possible. A higher SPF also means more chemicals used and that may not be a good thing according to some recent studies.</p>
<p>There is some new research that suggests that certain chemicals found in sunscreens might not be so good for us. Some chemicals may affect our hormone levels (such changing estrogen levels within the body) and others may have significant impact on our DNA levels.</p>
<p>In addition, researchers propose that certain chemicals present in our sunscreen may not protect us from sun damage at all. <p>Omega 3, the fatty acids found in cold water fishes like salmon have lots benefits, including alleviating depression, preventing age-related blindness and a host of other benefits. But did you know that omega-3 has anti-aging effects as well?</p>
<p>Aging is caused by telomeres, the structures at the end of chromosomes. They mark biological aging. Genetic factors such as exposure to certain chemicals, environmental stresses are believed to contribute to the aging process. Now research published in the Journal of American Medical Association (JAMA) shows that omega 3 also slows down the shortening of telomeres.</p>
<p>Past studies have shown that people with established cardiovascular disease who have high dietary intake of marine omega 3 fatty acids live longer who have the same health problems but do not have adequate omega 3 in their diet. As for anti-aging effects, a group of scientists studied if omega 3 fatty acids were linked to changes in leukocyte telomere length. The scientist studies the patients for about 5 years. There was an association between baseline levels of two types of omega 3 fatty acids, docosahexaenoic acid and eicosapentaenoic acid, in the patients&#8217; bodies and there was a subsequent change in telomere length.</p>
<p>Their research also showed that the subjects with the least amount of DHA and EPA experienced the most rapid rate of telomere shortening. However, those with the highest levels of the omega-3 fatty acids experienced the slowest rate of telomere shortening &#8211; meaning, those with high levels of omega 3 fatty acids had greater anti-aging components in their system.</p>
<p>This raises hope for those who are seeking anti-aging treatments &#8211; natural anti-aging treatments at that. The abundance of omega 3 in the diet could offer cellular anti-aging protection for all people, whether they have a heart disease or not.</p>
