7. Black Cohosh is a perennial plant that grows in higher elevations in North America. It produces relief for PMS by soothing jittery nerves and calming anxiety and moodiness.
8. Mint leaves have a clean scent and are cool and refreshing in iced tea. Peppermint provides significant therapeutic properties such as a gargle for sore throats and to wash wounds. The menthol flavor of Spearmint is used in many kinds of candy, gum and toothpaste, and is especially delicious when added to meat and vegetable dishes.
9. Milk Thistle is a recognized liver tonic which supports and protects the liver. Concentrated amounts of this herb are necessary for those with elevated liver enzymes.
10. Astragalus enhances overall health by strengthening the immune system and appears to have no side affects. Astragalus can be added to soups to enhance the flavor. This herb is loaded with healing properties and helps minimize the damage of too much stress.
11. Ginger does an excellent job of thinning the blood. Some report that it does an equally good job of reducing pain from arthritis.
