Keep Your Aging Program Simple

Friday, October 8th, 2010

While trying to slow and stop the aging process, one of the most important parts is what we eat. There are foods that are perfect to use to stop aging and can be eaten regularly. They are good for you, all natural, have many vitamins and minerals naturally found in them and offer other health benefits as well.

Water – First and foremost drink plenty of water daily, at least six to eight glasses. Be sure and drink water that is chlorine free. Increased water consumption rejuvenates and adds elasticity to the skin, as well as keeps the body replenished of essential vitamins and minerals.

Avocados – These have loads of mono-saturated fat that helps to lower cholesterol. They also are filled with vitamin E to slow skin aging and potassium to lower blood pressure.

Blackberries, Blueberries and Black Grapes – These fruits are loaded with antioxidants that alleviate free radicals in the body, which leads to aging.

Cabbage, Cauliflower Kale, Turnips, Broccoli, Radishes, Brussels Sprouts and Watercress – These vegetables fight toxins in the body and should be eaten raw to receive the most nutrients from them. (In an earlier article I suggested using blenderized veggies.)

Nuts – Any type of nuts are good source of potassium, iron, magnesium, zinc, copper and selenium. They will improve the immune system and also help with digestion too.

Beans – Bean based meals are a great source of proteins and antioxidants. They are perfect for people that are on a vegetarian diet or even people who are on a reduced meat diet. They provide the protein that is needed and usually received from meats.

Whole Wheat Rice and Pasta – These are made up of complex carbohydrates, as well as high fiber, iron and vitamin B.

Melons – Especially watermelons are a great source of vitamin A, B and C in the flesh. Plus, the seeds can be eaten as well and they have essential fats, vitamin E and zinc in them.

Ginger – This improves digestion and circulation throughout the body. It can also help with aches and pains too. It can be added to many foods without even being noticed, but still receiving the maximum benefits from it.
Garlic – A clove daily will help with heart disease, as well as reducing cholesterol and thinning the blood too.

Taking special care of your food intake, eliminating toxic personal products, filtering your air and water should all help to promote a healthy environment where you live younger longer. After all, it’s the quality of your life that makes it all worthwhile.

Anti Aging Skincare – Some Useful Tips

Wednesday, July 7th, 2010

by James Lunden

Healthy skin has a smooth, silky appearance and it’s sole purpose is to protect our body from sickness and infection. Youthful skin tone is also a sign of health and is something everyone notices when we’re looking at each other. Anti aging skincare is designed to help re-energize skin and give it back the elasticity that time often takes away as we age.

Of course it would be so much easier if we could all just sit back and never worry about how we look, but for most of us looking good means feeling good — the two go hand in hand. When researching which anti aging skincare treatment you wish to use: Make sure it contains a good dose of antioxidants to help oxygenate your skin cells, Retinol A to accelerate healing, and a good moisturizer to prevent dry skin.

Why Me?

A lot of people wonder why their skin has succumbed to age, when their neighbor of the same age looks ten years younger. This can be for a number of reasons.

1) Your lifestyle choices may have accelerated the aging of your skin. E.g., tobacco use, certain prescription medications, not drinking enough water, over-exposure to the sun or tanning beds, poor diet, excess alcohol consumption — will all cause your skin (and body) to age faster than what is genetically predetermined.

2) Your neighbors may possibly be using anti aging skincare themselves. We all have our private beauty secrets, that we would never tell anyone about. Some people prefer to pretend their look is 100% natural, while secretly they have an entire treasure chest of products at home, to keep them looking their best.

It’s Never Too Late

It’s never too late to get started with anti aging skincare treatments. At the same time, it’s never too early either. If you’re over 30 years old, start using a good product now, to prevent wrinkles and fine lines. If you already have a few signs of aging on your face, make sure your lifestyle choices aren’t hurting your skin and find a quality anti aging product to stop nature in its tracks.
