Is Your Detergent Adding Chemicals to Your Anti-Aging Program

iStock_000009675885XSmall So, you’ve started an anti-aging program. You’re eating right, using some great supplements, and working hard to avoid toxins that make aging occur even faster. Are you using laundry detergent? You actually may be sabotaging your anti aging program, adding chemicals with toxic detergent.

Do you really even know what is in your laundry detergent? Probably not. In fact, laundry detergents don’t even have to list the ingredients in them on the label. The thing is, there are toxins in your laundry detergent, even if they’re not listed.

There are dangerous chemicals that are hazardous that are included in toxic detergent. While you may not think that’s too bad, what you don’t know is that the chemicals get into your wash. Some of it is left on your clothes. When you wear the clothes, then those chemicals can get assimilated into the body.

Once these chemicals get into your body, they can build up and cause all kinds of problems. They can mess around with hormones, in some cases they can build up and cause cancer, and they can even cause allergic reactions.

Why should you keep spending money on toxic detergent? Do you really want to continue putting chemicals on your clothes – the very same clothes that touch your skin each day?

It may be time to rethink that laundry detergent you’ve been using. Not only are you sabotaging your anti-aging program, but you’re also building up toxins in your body that can seriously affect your health. It’s time to start finding something better for your body and your anti aging program.

Hormones Don’t Belong In Your Meats

Thursday, July 2nd, 2009

Did you know that most of the meat you consume has synthetic hormones and harmful chemicals? How so, you ask. To increase meat production and profits, ranchers use growth hormones to increase the weight of the cattle. Nitrates are used to give color to the cattle. Nitrates are very common in hot dogs, which give them the red color. Ranchers also place a large number of animals under a single roof, making them overcrowded and susceptible to diseases. The cattle are then treated with antibiotics.

Five hormones are approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in food production. Naturally occurring hormones are Progesterone and Testosterone and synthetic hormones are Zeranol, Trenbolone and Melengestrol. These hormones are approved for use in cattle and sheep only. Poultry and pigs do not tend to put on weight with these hormones. The hormones are inserted through a pellet which is placed under the skin of the ear. The pellet passes the hormones to the animal and the ears are thrown away when they are slaughtered.

There are concerns that traces of chemicals and hormones would stay in the meat and would pose a hazard to people who consume them. However, there is no conclusive research to claim these hormones cause harm to humans. The main problem lies in determining natural hormones versus pellet hormones as the levels of hormones produced naturally varies from one animal to another.

Today girls reach puberty at a very young age. This can be attributed to the steroids found in meat. The nitrates used to convert the meat color to red can convert to nitrosamines. Nitrosamines are believed to promote and cause cancer. The FDA does not have conclusive reports to determine that nitrates in meat can cause cancer, and have approved their usage in processed meats. Anti-aging without chemicals behooves you to do a pass on these meats that could cause health problems of any kind.

Scientists have also raised an alarm in the usage of hormones. According to them, hormones not only form a residue in meat but also pass out the hormones through their excreta. This can pose environmental problems too as they can contaminate the surface and ground water.

The European Union does not approve usage of growth hormones in cattle and has prohibited the hormone treated beef since 1988. All beef imports from the U.S. have been banned which has been challenged by the U.S. in the WTO. The U.S. and Canada still approve the growth promoting hormones in meats which don’t belong on your anti-aging program to live healthy longer.
