Anti Aging Facial Exercise Keeps Muscles Toned

Monday, June 13th, 2011

Facial muscles are located directly underneath the skin. Therefore, if there begins to appear wrinkles, expression marks and/or skin sagging, it only means that the facial muscles are getting tired and untended. Treat your facial muscles as you would your biceps, triceps and abs – tone them with a facial exercise.

Facial exercises are the means of toning the muscles by reducing the telltale signs of aging, increasing facial volume and preventing further muscle loss. Theses are considered to be “natural” techniques to defy age since they do not involve the intake of supplements or the need to go under the needle or knife.

There are different kinds of exercises, and each is targeted to a specific area of the face. But all of these can be divided into two groups: the active and the passive facial exercise.

Active facial exercises are defined as the process of performing repetitive actions over a period of time. Regularly patterned facial contractions are voluntarily done in front of a mirror. It’s like making funny faces everyday. These exercises are best done in the mornings to help define the mood for the day; and at night to help the muscles relax.

On the other hand, passive exercises are assisted exercises. The ideal tone of the facial muscles is achieved with the help of a machine that is attached directly to the different areas of the face. Once turned on, it gently massages by sending waveforms to shape the muscles. Since these are done in clinics, they do not need to be performed everyday. Also, passive exercises should only be handled by licensed therapists because too much release of waveforms can cause chronic pain, longer muscle soreness, and multiple other side effects.

Why the hype on facial exercises?

Why not? Each form of facial exercise is free, non-invasive, relaxing and with effects visible in a few months time. The only downside to these exercises is that patience and effort are required for them to work. But think about it, a mere hour a day everyday won’t be too much to ask if it’s about keeping a young and fresh-looking persona. You spend hours in the gym toning your body, why not do an hour on your face too?

Facelift, Exercises, Chin Reshaping, Lip Plumping… …So Many Choices To Remain Youthful Looking

Saturday, June 28th, 2008

When people meet you for the first time, it’s your face they see so it’s important to maintain a healthy skin regime. The application of face creams is good, but try face exercises as part of your routine as they help oxygenate the cells further allowing the removal of harmful toxins from the pores.

Many cosmetic procedures are carried out on a regular basis now but the most popular is the facelift.

The correct term for a facelift is Rhytidectomy which is designed to remove signs of aging from the face including wrinkles. There is now evidence to suggest that face lifts have other health benefits including increasing the life span of the recipient. The basis of a facelift is quite simple; the skin is pulled tight over the face making the skin look smooth and youthful again.

One example of facial treatment is Micropigmentation which is used to increase definition around the eyes, eyebrows and lips giving the face a more alert and attractive look. The amount of work that can be carried out to improve the face is almost endless and includes, hair restoration, cheek and chin re-shaping, lip surgery and laser hair removal to name but a few.

The chin is one of the most noticed features of an individual’s face because other elements of the face such as the nose, and jaw are lined up with it. Because everyone wants to look their best, no part of the face is safe from the cosmetic surgeon and now more and more eye and eyebrow operations are taking place. Self confidence improves when a person knows they look good as recent studies have confirmed.

Not only can you have parts of your face re-shaped and moved and parts removed, it is now possible to add facial implants or have collagen injections to alter the whole facial structure and appearance. These injections plump creased or sunken skin on the face as well as perhaps add fullness to the back of the hands. If you decide on any facial therapy, expect some discomfort afterwards as most cause swelling, bruising and tenderness with varying rates of recovery, depending on the treatment used. A new treatment to be used is Hyaluronic acid which naturally occurs in the body and acts as a lubricating agent and when injected into the face, reduces the signs of aging.

Each of the various treatments mentioned here can on their own, or in combination, reduce the effects of aging.

Remember that whatever the effect of cosmetic surgery may be on your appearance, you are still the same person inside.
