Use Less Of These Fats In Your Anti-Aging Program
Fats. Everyone thinks they’re the same – but they’re not. You see, while some fats are definitely harmful, there are others that are important to the body and the way that it functions. The main key is choosing the fats that are healthy for you.
Everyone needs some fats, which the body uses for energy. Fat helps to transport vitamins that are fat soluble, are important for healthy skin, good function of the immune system, and more. However, the wrong fats could be ruining your health and your anti aging program.
The Good Fats
Fats that are unsaturated, which usually are in the form of oils, help to increase the flexibility and fluidity of cells. There are heart health fats as well, which include olive and canola oils, which are monounsaturated fats.
Omega-3s, which are polyunsaturated fats are healthy fats as well and including them in your diet is important. They can help to reduce the risk of heart problems and can also help beat inflammation, which can cause aging. Foods that contain them include flax seeds, walnuts, and certain types of fish.
To a certain extent, the Omega-6s can be somewhat beneficial. They can be healthy in small amounts; however, most people take in too much of these fats, which can end up promoting inflammation – sabotaging your anti-aging program. You’ll want to cut back on these fats, which are found in products that contain soybean products.
Bad Fats
Both trans fats and saturated fats are considered to be bad fats. They can raise bad cholesterol, and they have been linked to depression and diabetes as well. Trans fats are even known to lower the good cholesterol, which is another problem. For good health, it’s best to cut back on these fats as much as possible. Any fats that don’t help you anti-age simply aren’t a benefit to your wellness program.
Have a fun, safe and successful New Year,
Vida
